We currently have an open position for a Technical Support Engineer.
Skills/Qualifications:
We require an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field or its equivalent in appropriate technology certifications. Prefer MCSE/MCSA. At least 5 years experience with PC and LAN operations and extensive knowledge of LAN/WAN networks and PC technology. Effective analytical, organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
We aslo require a good to extensive knowledge of Microsoft operating enviroments, including; Windows 2000/2003, Windows XP and (Terminal Services, Exchange and SQL are a PLUS). A very good understanding of communications and network components including switches, routers, firewalls and other security devices. Handheld technology is essential (blackberry, palm, Windows Mobile, etc. are a definite PLUS!).
Candidates with good experience with VB, scripting and SharePoint experience will receive special consideration.
This position includes intensive work at customer locations. The qualified candidate must demonstrate customer service skills and expertise in communicating with internal and external customers about the extent of an issue and a realistic timeline for resolution. Candidate must be prepared to provide status reports and follow-up with the customer about all ongoing issues.
Job Responsibilities:
The qualified candidate will: ·
- Enhance the network consulting team accomplishments and competence by planning delivery of solutions and answering technical and procedural questions for customers.
- Install and configure Servers, workstations, switches, routers and firewalls. Many of our projects include networks supporting data, local and wide area networks. knowledge of VPN and SSL is desirable.
- Prepare action reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing project information.
- Maintain technical knowledge by understanding state-of-the-art technologies; attend educational workshops and Vendor Training classes; review technical publications and work on various technology projects.
